Boost for Enfield as works set to upgrade key water infrastructure
Uisce Éireann's commitment to supporting future social and economic growth in Meath continues with confirmation that works will commence in the middle of February to upgrade the water network in Enfield. The upgrades will provide a more resilient water supply for homes and businesses and increase the capacity of the network to empower future growth and development in the town.
This significant investment by Uisce Éireann will involve the installation of over 400m of new water mains from the intersection of New Road/Dublin Road, near Na Fianna GAA Club, and will continue to the R148 roundabout. Once completed, the vital upgrade will support current and future growth, including planned residential development and will also substantially improve network performance, ensuring the delivery of a reliable, high-quality water service for the thriving town of Enfield.
Outlining the benefits of this important project for the local community, Programme Manager at Uisce Éireann, Padraig Hanly said: "We are delighted to be progressing this project for the people of Enfield with works commencing over the coming weeks. The works will be completed by Q1 of this year, and the project upgrade will benefit the local community for decades to come. Once completed, the upgrade works will ensure adequate water capacity to facilitate current and future demand while also supporting social and economic development."
Padraig added "We would like to thank the local community for their support and co-operation as we carry out this work. We look forward to working with our colleagues in Meath County Council, and most importantly the people of Enfield as we deliver this vital upgrade to the water infrastructure."
GMC Utilities Group Ltd will carry out the upgrade works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
