Carrying out essential tank cleaning in Portumna

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann customers in Portumna and the surrounding area may experience intermittent outages or reduced pressure in their water supply this Thursday (21 November) as a result of essential cleaning works being carried out on the clear water tank at the Portumna Water Treatment Plant.

The areas which may be affected by supply disruptions on Thursday are Portumna town, Cooldarragh and Killimor. The affected supply serves a population of approximately 2,700 people.

Some customers, particularly those at the end of the line or on elevated sites, may experience reduced pressure or intermittent outages while the cleaning works are underway.

Cleaning crews working on behalf of Uisce Éireann will endeavour to complete the essential cleaning works and restore the supply to normal levels as quickly as possible.

However, customers may experience some interruptions to their supply from approximately 8.30am until 7pm on Thursday.

Customers who require information can contact the Uisce Éireann customer care helpline, which is open 24/7, on 1800 278 278.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
