We assures customers supplied by Lough Mourne Public Water Supply Scheme that every effort is being made to minimise disruption to the supply following Storm Éowyn.
Last night’s violent storm has affected operations at the water treatment plant and customers are expected to experience a loss in pressure or outages to their supply in the following areas including: elevated levels of Finn Vally and twin towns of Ballybofey Stranorlar including Meenglass, Goland, Carrickmagrath, Knock, Glencovitt, Sessiaghoneill, Cavan Upper, Cooladawson, Dunwiley, Blacklees, Lettermakenny, Creggan, Glenfin, Largnalore, Commeen, Reelin, Cloghroe, Lettermore, Kilross, Broadpath, and Meenavoy. Paul Kilcoyne assured customers that Uisce Éireann is working to assess the issue and repair crews will commence restoration works as soon as the status red weather warning has been lifted.
Customers are urged to conserve water where possible in order to protect supply while the outages are resolved. For simple ways to conserve water, check out the Uisce Éireann conservation calculator (www.water.ie/calculator) which can help people work out how much water they are currently using and how they can conserve even more. Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
