Crews working to resolve disruption to wastewater network in Maynooth, Co. Kildare

Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a major burst to the wastewater network in Maynooth, Co. Kildare. 

Crews have been on the ground since Friday, January 03, with works to this complex repair due to continue until Sunday morning, January 05. There is a risk it may extend beyond Sunday due to external factors, including the current weather warnings. 

Regional Wastewater Senior Manager, Jonathan Deane has said “Uisce Éireann’s priorities are public health and safety and minimising harm to the environment. Uisce Éireann regrets this incident and any inconvenience it may have caused. We are working hard to resolve the situation and ensure that it does not reoccur”.

The Environmental Protection Agency have been consulted regarding the issue and remedial measures are in place to minimise any overflows into River Rye.
