Water supply returning to Uisce Éireann customers in Mid Kerry

Water supply is returning for customers in Mid Kerry following the successful reconfiguration of the network by Uisce Éireann crews.

A major burst over the weekend on the raw water pipe, which supplies water to the Mid Kerry Gearha Water Treatment Plant, had impacted customers in Listry, Beaufort, Killorglin and surrounding areas. The complex burst will be repaired in the coming days, but this is not expected to impact customers.

Uisce Éireann’s Charlie O’Leary said “We would like to thank residents and businesses for their patience and understanding while crews worked to restore supply. We have successfully located and isolated the leak and our crews have been able to reconfigure the network to enable supply be returned to customers today. We would ask customers to be mindful of their usage while the reservoirs recharge.

As the network fills and supplies return throughout the afternoon and evening, customers at some points along the network may experience intermittent disruption or low water pressure for a number of hours. Customers may also experience short-term discolouration to their supply. For more information, customers can visit the Discoloured water section of our website.
