25 January 2025

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

As a result of power outages caused by storm Éowyn, customers in Asdee Village, Ballylongford, Beal West, Lacka, Farranstack, Lissleton, Tullamore and surrounding areas in Co. Kerry are experiencing disruptions to their water supply.

Uisce Éireann crews are on the ground working to address supply interruptions and restore supply as quicky as possible. In the meantime, an alternative water supply is available for customers at the car park at Asdee GAA pitch, Lyre, Lisselton at the pump house, Asdee Village (Opposite old post office), entrance of Tullamore Reservoir and Causeway Church. Customers are reminded to use their own containers if taking water from a tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure, as per advice from the Health Service Executive.

Charlie O’Leary, Uisce Éireann Operations Lead in Kerry said: “Due to the severity of the storm, Uisce Éireann had activated its emergency response processes,  “We are addressing the needs of our customers and working closely with the ESB to return power to these key water services sites as quickly as possible. When power is restored, it will take time for the network to fill and for water supplies to be fully restored”

Customers are being urged to conserve water where possible to protect supply while outages are being resolved. There are some simple steps people can take to conserve their water, such as avoiding the use of water-intensive appliances during this time. To learn more about conserving water, visit www.water.ie/conserve

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes.
