Uisce Éireann crews working to repair burst in Bundoran

Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a burst on a major trunk main supplying Bundoran Town. 

Every effort is being made to maintain water supply to as many customers as possible, however the burst may cause supply disruptions to customers in Bundoran, Ballyshannon and surrounding areas in Co. Donegal.

Uisce Éireann’s Paul Lyons assured customers that every effort is being made to carry out repairs as quickly as possible. 

“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while our crews work to ensure that a normal water supply is returned to all of our customers as quickly as possible.”

Works are scheduled to be complete by 4pm this afternoon. Uisce Éireann recommends that customers allow two to three hours after repairs for normal supply to return to homes and businesses. 

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. Uisce Éireann continues to provide detailed, real-time, and local information about water service on our service and supply map. The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and updates are also issued via Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) @IWCare. 

Business customers can sign up to Uisce Éireann’s text alert system to receive updates on supply interruptions over four hours in duration.
