Uisce Éireann is working to restore water to customers in Garristown and surrounding areas in north County Dublin as quickly as possible following disruption to supply in the wake of Storm Éowyn.
Uisce Eireann repair crews, working with the local authority and the ESB, have commenced restoration works in Garristown but advise that supply disruptions may last into the weekend for some households and businesses.
Customers who experience intermittent loss to supply can access alternative water supplies at Ballygarra Park from 3pm today, Friday, 24th January. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure, as per Health Service Executive advice.
Uisce Éireann’s Tselopile Tlou said, “Our crews are working to restore water service as quickly as possible, but it may take some time before full service is restored everywhere. We ask for the public’s continued patience during this challenging time.”
Customers are urged to conserve water where possible to protect supply while the outages are resolved. For simple ways to conserve water, check out the Uisce Éireann conservation calculator which can help people work out how much water they are currently using and how they can conserve even more.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
