Uisce Éireann replacing ageing water mains in Chapelizod, Dublin 20 to reduce leakage and ensure a safer and more secure water supply to customers.
Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Dublin City Council, will soon begin works to replace ageing cast iron and uPVC water mains in Chapelizod, Dublin 20. The works are planned to commence on 11 June 2018. These water mains renewal works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann's national Leakage Reduction Programme.

Steps
- The water mains replacement works will involve the decommissioning and replacement of approximately 1.45 kilometres of old and damaged cast iron and uPVC water mains
- The existing pipes will be replaced with new modern high density polyethylene (plastic) pipes
- Where there is lead on the public side of the service connection this will be removed
- The construction works will commence on the 11th June 2018 and are expected to take approximately 6 weeks to complete
