Cork City Water Supply - Eastern Strategic Trunk Watermain
Uisce Éireann is progressing with significant upgrades to the water network across Cork City.
Uisce Éireann is progressing with significant upgrades to the water network across Cork City. In partnership with Cork City Council, we are working to improve the security of water supply across Cork City through the delivery of three projects as part of the Cork City Water Supply Scheme. Farrans Construction is delivering these three projects on behalf Uisce Éireann.
What is involved as part of this project?
As part of this project, Uisce Éireann will:
- Replace and upsize where required 2.4km of various sized large diameter trunk mains between Camden Quay and Shanakiel Reservoir.
What are the benefits of this project?
- Provide a secure and reliable water supply to Cork City.
- Reduced leaks as the replacement of water mains and service connections will eliminate existing leaks and reduce the amount of clean drinking water lost into the ground.
