Dublin City Groundwater Monitoring
Uisce Éireann is progressing works to monitor the quality of groundwater in Dublin.
Uisce Éireann is carrying out essential water services works comprising of the installation of a groundwater monitoring borehole network. Boreholes are due to be installed at various locations across Dublin over the coming weeks. Priority Geotechnical Limited is working on behalf of Uisce Éireann to deliver this project.
What are the benefits of this project?
The works carried out as part of this project will:
- Establish a baseline of groundwater quality,
- Provide long term monitoring of the groundwater quality,
- Ensure the groundwater remains safe.
What is involved as part of this project?
The works are expected to be carried out during the month of June. Two boreholes will be installed side by side at 12 locations across Dublin.
Each borehole location will take approximately 1-2 working days to install. The installation of each borehole will take place in green areas, with minimal impact to traffic. We do not expect any disruption to the water supply during these works.
