Kilcommon Water Mains Replacement
Uisce Éireann, in partnership with Tipperary County Council, is replacing problematic water mains in Kilcommon, Tipperary to provide a more reliable water supply and reduce high levels of leakage.
The works involve the replacement of over 1200 metres of problematic water mains with new modern pipes. The programme to replace the water mains in Kilcommon, Tipperary will commence in late-March. These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann's National Leakage Reduction Programme.
The section of works will take along the L2266-1 Churchview Road between Kilcommon village and the R497, Nenagh to Thurles Road.
The works will also involve laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers' property boundaries and connecting it to the customers' water supply. Where the existing service connections on the public side are lead these will be replaced as part of this improvement work.
The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by ShareRidge Civil Engineering and are expected to be completed by the end of April.

- Reduced Leaks - Replacement of water mains and service connections will eliminate existing leaks and reduce the amount of clean drinking water lost into the ground.
- Improved Operation and Maintenance - These works will deliver cost savings by providing improved water network operation that will require less maintenance in the future.
Traffic Management and Road Closures
In order to complete the works in a safe and efficient manner, a road closure is required along the L-2266-11 Churchview road between Kilcommon Village and the R497. The road closure will be in place from late-March to late-April.
The suggested diversion route for eastbound traffic is take Churchview Road to Sean Treacy's GAA pitch before taking the R503 (Thurles Road) to the R497 and continue northbound.
