Water Project
Uisce Éireann has completed upgrade works to continue to provide a safe and reliable drinking water supply for over 31,000 people in the Navan area.
Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Meath County Council, has completed works to improve the water supply at the Liscarton Water Treatment Plant, which serves in excess of 31,000 people in the Navan and Mid-Meath area, including Dunderry, Kilberry and Gibbstown. These works were carried out by Veolia Water Ireland Limited on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
The project provided extensive upgrades to address the risks to water quality and provide sludge treatment facilities on site. The upgrade works were completed in March 2021 and the supply has now been removed from the EPA's Remedial Action List.
What was involved as part of this project?
This project was delivered by Veolia Water Ireland Limited and included the following works at the existing water treatment plant:
- Upgrade of the raw water intake works
- Provision of additional process infrastructure and upgraded clarification and filtration processes
- Provision of sludge and washwater treatment facilities
- Upgraded telemetry, management systems and site infrastructure

- Safeguards the water supply for over 31,000 people
