Louth Water Conservation Stage 3 - Watermain Rehab Contract 4

Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Louth County Council, to deliver the Louth Water Conservation Project.

As part of this project, Uisce Éireann is investing €3.4 million in the replacement and rehabilitation of 9.4km of old water mains in Dundalk Town and its environs. These vital works will improve water supply and reduce leakage in Dundalk Town and its environs. Upon completion, this project will result in significant improvements in network performance and levels of customer service in terms of efficiency and security of water supply.

• This project will involve the replacement of old water mains that are prone to leakage, regular bursts and interruptions to supply in Dundalk
• Improved water quality by removing old lead service pipes

• Improved security of supply by reducing the number of bursts
• Improved water quality by removing old lead service pipes
• Reduced water wastage
• Financial savings over the medium and long term, as maintenance costs are reduced

• Replacement of the existing old water mains with new polyethylene and ductile iron water mains
• 800 connections and boundary boxes fully replaced or partially replaced
• Reinforcement of the network and improvement in the quality and security of supply in the town
