Stillorgan Water Main Replacement
National Leakage Reduction Programme
Uisce Éireann, in partnership with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, is replacing ageing water mains in Stillorgan, Co Dublin to improve security of supply, improve water quality and reduce high levels of leakage.
The programme to replace problematic water mains on Lower Kilmacud Road, Stillorgan, Co Dublin is scheduled to commence in January 2019. These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann's national Leakage Reduction Programme.
The works will take place in two sections. With section 1 beginning in late January with 230 metres of new water main being laid along Lower Kilmacud Road between the junctions of Allen Park Road and Glenalbyn Road. In section 2 of the works 155 metres of new water main will be laid at a later date along Lower Kilmacud Road from the junction with Glenalbyn Road to the junction with Old Dublin Road.

Steps
- The works involve the replacement of approximately 385 metres of aged cast iron water mains with high density polyethylene (plastic) pipes/pipe material
- The works will also involve laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers' property boundaries and connecting it to the customers' water supply
- Where the existing service connections on the public side are lead these will be replaced as part of this improvement work
